The accused was arrested after eight youngsters and an older person fell ill at the location in July.

She told the court the man had conducted this practice with the young males "over an extended period", and minors had previously fallen ill the subsequent day.

The prosecutor continued: "This year his stepchild had worries about the activities, with valid cause.

"They decided to investigate in the individual's items."

The prosecutor explained objects including lubricant, petroleum jelly and medical needles were found, and his family member notified the authorities about his worries.

She explained the man proceeded to conduct the "candy game" with six youngsters that evening - Saturday 26 July - and they were everyone unwell the following morning.

"Law enforcement" had not arrived by that point," she continued.

The regulatory agency, the investigative body, previously told that it was examining Leicestershire Police's handling of the situation.
